Heparin is one of the most commonly used drugs in the hospital. Most patients do not experience adverse events, but about 1-5%  will develop a serious complication – Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia or HIT.

Dr Janice McFarland and Dr Brian Curtis will discuss the diagnosis and treatment of HIT

Drug-Induced immune thrombocytopenia (DIT) is the most common drug sensitivity reaction affecting blood cells. 

Dr Richard Aster will discuss clinical and laboratory aspects of DIT.
